In Managua, Nicaragua, in the heart of Central America, a small but hopeful project is developing: La Casita Azul, Conceived from a simple idea: Help the little ones, the helpless and disadvantaged kids that ramble the streets of the capital city of Managua. Here in Managua the project is known legally as "La Alternativa de Solidaridad Infantil: La Casita Azul”, but recognized by all as "La Casita Azul" translates to The Little Blue House. This Pastoral project is looking out for boys and girls at risk, the vast majority (realistically expressing it) are born from single parents, usually teens, they come from broken families, parents that go out looking for work leaving their kids out there ..on their own...Here is where the Alternative word of the project come to play.
Our place La Casita Azul is a refuge for infants, kids and youngsters. The objective is to give then a chance, we give them a standard education and specially teach them Moral and Christian values, primarily we catechize them. All activities here have a meaning and are schedule accordingly, we are serious about education but also at La Casita Azul not everything is about school and classes, we also provide them leisure time, playing sports, field trips and more is involved. Along with medical assistance (medical and medicine) we also provide them with food...yes we give them food.. organized lunches every day...we quench their thirst and calm their hunger. Our kids love our place and become good citizens. ALL at no cost to them...nothing at all. |
